TimeBucks Payment Methods and Fees, Explained Method by Method

By Karanga Oliver · Updated · 8 min read

TimeBucks pays automatically once you reach $3, but which method you pick decides how much of that $3 actually reaches you. This guide walks through every payout method TimeBucks lists in its help center, what each one costs, who can use it, and the small rules (like PayPal's two-hour claim link) that trip people up.

The short answer

TimeBucks has no withdraw button. According to its help center, you are paid automatically on the next pay run once three things are true: your earnings balance is at least $3 USD, you have chosen a payment method in Settings → Payment Method, and your account is verified. The main methods and fees listed by TimeBucks are PayPal (4%, minimum fee $0.25), bank transfer through Wise (about $1.13 flat in most countries), AirTM (1.5%, minimum $0.25), UPI in India ($0.45 flat), Revolut (no fee stated), a virtual Visa card ($10 minimum) and two cryptocurrencies, Litecoin and Solana. Which of these you see depends on your country and verification status.

All figures below come from TimeBucks' own help articles as of September 2026. Payment options change, so treat the list in your own Settings as the final word.

How and when TimeBucks pays

TimeBucks sends payments in batches rather than on request. Its help center currently lists pay runs on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 23:59:59 New York time. Invoices are finalised four hours before each run, so anything you earn after the cut-off simply rolls into the next run. You can't ask for an early or one-off payout; everyone goes through the same cycle.

Balances are always shown in US dollars and there is no way to switch the display to your local currency. If you live outside the US, your bank, PayPal or wallet converts the money when it arrives, and that conversion may carry its own fee set by the receiving service, not by TimeBucks.

Verification matters too. Standard verification covers the regular (non-crypto) methods. Crypto payouts, or any account flagged for a compliance review, need a full ID check. If you don't want to share ID documents, stick to the non-crypto methods.

What the fees mean on a small payout

Because TimeBucks' minimum is so low, flat and minimum fees take a bigger bite than you might expect. Here is simple arithmetic on the fees above (not a prediction of what you'll earn):

The takeaway: for a first, small payout, a percentage-based method (PayPal or AirTM) usually keeps more of your money. Flat-fee methods like Wise make more sense once your balance is larger. Since payouts are automatic, the only way to "wait" for a larger balance is to leave no payment method set, which TimeBucks describes as parking earnings until you choose one. Remember to set one again later.

PayPal is the most popular choice, but it works differently from what many people expect. TimeBucks doesn't push money straight into your PayPal account. Instead, you receive an email (the help center says the subject often includes "TimePay") with a Redeem link, and you need to click it within about two hours of it being issued to claim the payment. Pay runs happen late in the evening New York time, which can be the middle of the night or early morning where you live.

Wise bank transfer

Bank transfer through Wise is available in around 50 countries. TimeBucks notes that it excludes most of Africa, South Asia and the Pacific. The fee is a flat $1.13 in most countries, $0.66 for India and $3 for Turkey and the UAE. For Indian members there is also a sign-up cutoff: accounts created on or after 7 January 2025 cannot use Wise at all (see our guide to survey sites that pay in India). Wise is a sensible choice if you don't use PayPal and your balance tends to be well above $3.

AirTM, UPI and Revolut

AirTM is a digital dollar wallet popular in Latin America and other regions where PayPal is limited. Its fee is 1.5% with a $0.25 minimum. TimeBucks lists a long set of countries where AirTM isn't available because of AirTM's own restrictions, so check that it appears in your settings before relying on it.

UPI Payment & Bank Transfer is India-only and costs a flat $0.45. You enter a phone number, and on pay day a link arrives by SMS and email where you enter your UPI ID or bank details. PayTM has been permanently removed for everyone.

Revolut payments go to your RevTag with no fee stated. The catch is the name: the full name on your TimeBucks account must match your Revolut name exactly, or the payment fails. It is offered in the EU, UK, US, Australia, Singapore, Japan and a few other places.

Virtual Visa card and crypto

The virtual Visa card has a higher $10 minimum, is sent through Tremendous, and the delivery email can take up to 72 hours. It is blocked in some countries, including India. Litecoin and Solana cost $0.50 below $5 and nothing above, but require a full ID check even if your account is already verified for standard payouts. Bitcoin payouts are no longer offered to new users.

Methods that no longer work

If you set up TimeBucks years ago, your saved method may be gone. The help center lists Payeer, TangoCard, Amazon and Neteller as fully removed, Skrill as not currently offered, and PayTM as permanently disabled. If your saved method shows as "no longer available", payouts stop until you pick a current one. There is also an option to move earnings to a TimeBucks advertising balance. That is one-way and can't be turned back into cash, so only choose it if you actually plan to advertise.

Pros and cons of TimeBucks payouts

Pros

  • Very low $3 minimum on most methods
  • Automatic payouts several nights a week
  • Fees are published in the help center
  • Local options in some markets, such as UPI in India

Cons

  • Minimum and flat fees take a large share of a $3 payout
  • PayPal payments must be claimed within about two hours
  • No way to request a payout on demand
  • Crypto needs a full ID check; some methods have been removed

Why didn't I get paid? A checklist

  1. Balance under $3 (or under $10 for the Visa card) when invoices were finalised.
  2. No payment method set, or a removed method still selected.
  3. Account not verified, or crypto chosen without a full ID check.
  4. Earned after the cut-off: invoices close four hours before each run, so late earnings go into the next one.
  5. PayPal link not claimed within the window.
  6. Name mismatch on Revolut.

A small negative balance after a payment is normal, according to TimeBucks: payouts are rounded to two decimals and the difference is absorbed on the next run.

Which method should you choose?

New to TimeBucks? Our TimeBucks review covers the ways to earn and a first-session plan to reach the $3 minimum, and TimeBucks vs survey sites helps you decide where to spend your time.

Bottom line

TimeBucks' payout system is simple once you know the rules: reach $3, set a method, get verified, and wait for the next automatic run. Pick a percentage-based method for small payouts, watch for PayPal's claim email, and check Settings for the methods your country actually gets. Then judge TimeBucks on whether that first small payout arrives, not on any promise of big earnings.
